Our providers are legally authorized by the Peruvian and other governments to extract wood in determined areas. This close forest management allow us to keep an excellent balance between man and nature.
Independent organizations using high tech and GPS satellites, take pictures of the authorized areas creating a map and after that sub-dividing the extracting areas into grids, where they take an inventory of the species and coding every tree according to their specie and protecting the ones under CITES control.
That allows that the company assigned to that area and depending in his demand, extract exactly the needed specie and amount necessary to fulfill its order, then for the next order they will move to another "grid" and they won't comeback to the previous grid for about 5 to 10 years to allow young trees reach maturity.
The extracted species are again codified this time by the extracting company and processed under a very strict quality control until the final product is finish, guarantying that the customer gets the product they order.
The extracting companies also follow a rigorous government control to prevent the illegal logging or over production of restricted species such as Peruvian Mahogany (Caoba) or Spanish Cedar (Cedro) that are under CITES protection.
The products offered in the domestic market, also complies with the mandatory government certifications, guarantying the final product and the product that is exported has to be inspected and approved by INRENA inspectors, before they are legally authorized to leave the country, closing in this way a cycle very responsible of production between the government and suppliers and again certifying the authenticity of the final product for the domestic and international market.
Our suppliers are also voluntary members of organizations that fight the illegal drug traffic and mostly are certified or in process of certification with International Forest Management Organizations.
